Sweet September Lessons

Topics: AsburyKids, Children, parents

Hi AsburyKids parents! I have some exciting news for your little preschoolers. This month, we are going to use the super-sweet theme of Ice Cream Sundae —along with the life of Joseph— to teach preschoolers that God has a plan for them. When we put all of the parts of Joseph’s story together—just as with an ice cream sundae—it gives us a sweet reminder that we can trust that God has a plan for us, and it is always best. We just have to wait until God is done putting all of the parts together.

Each week we will be talking about a different part of the story of Joseph and doing another step to create a pretend ice cream sundae. Now, here is the exciting part. As your kids participate each week, they will get to add on to their pretend sundae. When we get to the fourth week, they can show us their completed sundae and earn a coupon for some real ice cream. Now isn’t that sweet?

Your family can participate all month long by either bringing your little ones to AsburyKids on Sunday mornings, completing the virtual lessons at home as a family (find them by clicking on the links below) or any combination of in-person and virtual lessons.

At home, you can use the printable paper sundae  (see the link below), cut them out to glue to your bowl (see the link below). The same ice cream cutouts are used at our in-person Sunday AsburyKids programing, so you can use any combination of in-person and virtual lessons. To show us your completed sundae, you can bring it to church with you on September 26, or comment on our Ice Cream Celebration Facebook post that day. Email Sarah Area if you have any questions

We can’t wait to see your creations!

Worship with Us on Sunday

Asbury's mission is Helping Others Follow Jesus. We are all about being and making disciples. It's not one or the other: … It's both for us. We follow Jesus, but we are actively seeking to help others follow Him, too. We believe that following Jesus is the key to life here and now, and eternally. So remember: be a disciple, and make disciples.
