Making Masks

Topics: Women, Ministries

Asbury’s Quilting Ministry has been busy making fabric masks for healthcare workers. Now that the CDC recommends that we ALL wear a mask, here are two ways you can make your own—with or without a sewing machine!  What about fabric? Cotton t-shirt fabric works perfectly—it’s a great way to repurpose a t-shirt you rarely wear.  If you use new fabric, be sure to wash it first.  Have fun being creative!

Several no-sew mask patterns are available on YouTube.  Here is one from the surgeon general’s office:  https://youtu.be/PI1GxNjAjlw

Here is a pattern (and video instructions) for a no-sew mask and a machine stitched mask. This pattern provides a pocket for an optional filter and instructions for fabric ties if you don’t have elastic. Go to sarahmaker.com.

If you would like to make masks to be donated, contact Andrea at astephens@asburytulsa.org

Worship with Us on Sunday

Asbury's mission is Helping Others Follow Jesus. We are all about being and making disciples. It's not one or the other: … It's both for us. We follow Jesus, but we are actively seeking to help others follow Him, too. We believe that following Jesus is the key to life here and now, and eternally. So remember: be a disciple, and make disciples.
