Exciting News

Topics: Women, Community, From Pastor Andrea

Have you ever been really excited to meet someone? I mean, really excited, like nervous stomach, sweaty palms, happy dance excited? When I was a kid and heard we were on our way to meet Santa Claus, I was thrilled! I was about to see the big, jolly fella with the long white beard with my very own eyes. Of course, the best part would be telling him everything my little heart desired for Christmas—guaranteeing him that I had been a very good girl.

In my mid-twenties I attended a church in Solvang, California. As Easter Sunday approached, secret service men started scoping out the campus, the sanctuary, the land around the parking lot. That was a sure sign that President Ronald Reagan, who’s ranch was nearby, might be attending our Easter service. I was so glad I had signed up to be a greeter that morning because I was in prime position to welcome the Reagan’s when they arrived that morning in a presidential limo. They were warm and gracious, and I was ecstatic!

Over the years I’ve gotten to meet various people for various reasons, but there have always been a few women I have wanted to meet. One of them is Beth Moore. As is true for many of us, Beth’s nearly four decades of developing and teaching Bible studies has greatly contributed to my understanding of scripture and love for the Lord. Her dedication and passion for the Word of God and the advancement of His Kingdom has been amazing. I’ve been blessed by her ministry over and over, so naturally, meeting her would be a thrill.

Well, guess what? I get to meet her—and so do you! That’ right! Beth Moore will be here at Asbury live and in-person on Friday night, April 16 and Saturday, April 17! Her ministry, Living Proof Ministries, will be bringing in her personal team, worship band, media team, and lots of great merchandise (books, DVDs, and Bible studies) to bless and enrich our lives with a fresh message from Beth. Ticket information and volunteer opportunities will be forthcoming, but for now, I hope you will share the news with others and be as excited as I am.

Until then, Women’s Ministry has lots of upcoming activities for fun, fellowship, and studying God’s Word. The next one is November 12 with the Holiday Workshop. Hope you plan to join us!

Worship with Us on Sunday

Asbury's mission is Helping Others Follow Jesus. We are all about being and making disciples. It's not one or the other: … It's both for us. We follow Jesus, but we are actively seeking to help others follow Him, too. We believe that following Jesus is the key to life here and now, and eternally. So remember: be a disciple, and make disciples.
